Sumarry of Hamlet - Act 1 Scene 1
Barnardo takes over Fransico's shift, but Franciso thought he was the ghost. Banardo finds Horatio and Marcellus. Fransico says goodbye and leaves. But Horatio doesn't believe that they have seen a ghost and said they were just imaging it. The clock strikes one and the ghost appears. Banardo says it looks like the dead king and tells Horatio to try speaking to the ghost. He asks the ghost what he is, why is walks around so late and why he is wearing the amour that the king wore when he died in battle. Horatio goes pale and starts trembling, he finally believe in the ghost from seeing it with his own eyes. They discuss the way how the ghost frowned the same way as the king did when he attacked the Poles, and weather it could be the dead kings ghost. They start talking about how it has appeared the same time for the past two nights and that this might be a sign that the countries in danger. Marcellus asks why there has been such a strict schedule lately. Horatio says he thinks it's because the dead king killed the king of Norway and his son seeks to battle to reclaim the land his farther lost, so that's why were posted tonight. Banardo agrees and thinks that's what explains the dead king wondering round the castle. The ghost comes back. The ghost is about to speak but is interrupted the rooster. This time Marcellus strikes it with his spear. So the ghost disappears again. They discuss whether it was because they used violence. Marcellus says he disappeared because the rooster crows, so that no ghost dares go wandering. They decide to tell Prince Hamlet.
